Tracy says, "I was so inspired by the sunflowers in our SowThankful Farm garden this summer that I had to create some placemats for our table so we can continue to enjoy their cheerful energy all year round. It’s just the two of us at home now unless we have company visiting and I've discovered that I like to arrange the placemats together across the table so they function as a decorative table runner when we are not using the table. For example, configured as shown on the pattern cover, across our dining table. We simply slide our favorite placemat into place when we set the table. I hope your sunflower placemats bring you as many smiles and as much joy as ours bring us. Also, I don't have an embroidery machine, but if I did I think it would be great fun to embroider names or words in the sunflower seed head centers."
The easy raw edge applique technique makes this a great scrap-buster project. Prairie point sides add interest and energy -- you can make them all one color, a mix or all different colors.
Finished size is approximately 13.5" x 16.75".
