Perfect for beginners! 05/16/2018

We made this top in my sewing II class at a local vo-tech. There are 4 women and I don't think anybody made the same top, neck, length or sleeve, and all of them turned out well. The pattern is simple and clever. There are only three pieces to cut, unless you are lengthening the sleeve. The top is cut on the fold so the top only has two side seams. Hemming the sleeves and bottom was easy. I thought the neckline instructions were difficult to understand, my teacher was there to explain it differently. I'm sure there are you tube videos that could help too. I used a knit, which lays beautifully. If you're a beginner try not to get a "slippery" knit. It took me twice as long to make as it is hard to get it smooth to lay the pattern and cut and it made the neckline more difficult. I would also recommend beginners do the round neckline, it is much easier. My top turned out great, except the v neck. I think the fabric and my inexperience was to blame tho, not the pattern

So happy with this pattern! It fits well and couldn't be easier to make. I used cotton fabric and made 3 tees with kimono sleeves, 2 of which I did not put on the neck facing or hem the sleeves or bottom. The fabric frayed and I love the casual look they give me for summer. I did stay stitch around the neckline to keep it's shape. Will be making more. Can't wait to see what it will look like in knit fabric.

1piece pattern!! 04/03/2022

Quickest top I have ever made. I did have to raise the v neck part of the pattern. WAY too low on me!! If I had left it that low and wore it I might have been arrested!! LOL! Used a knit and it worked well and quickly!! Will use it again. Just realize the fabric has to be wider than 42” in width.

Pattern review 06/24/2018

This pattern was very simple, however the size was off for me. My measurements were for a 16 and it was tight. I used cotton and not knit and I'm sure that could have made some difference but not enough to like this. I gave it to my daughter.
