Paper - Tamarack Jacket Size 0-18 sewing pattern from Grainline Studio More Details
Designed with the transitional seasons in mind, the Tamarack Jacket sewing pattern shows you how to make a warm and stylish quilted coat that's perfect for spring and fall layering.
You may choose to follow one of the two quilting designs included, or design your own to make your Tamarack totally original to you. You’ll stay toasty thanks to the inner layer of cotton or wool batting, while the roomy welt pockets will keep your belongings safe and your hands warm.
Techniques involved include straight seams, basic quilting, sewing darts, inserting welt pockets, and applying bias binding. See pattern back cover image for more details.
Suggested Fabrics:
-Main & Lining Fabrics Light to mid-weight cottons, linens, chambrays, and blends work well for this jacket. Since the fabric will be doubled and quilted to a batting avoid anything too heavy as the jacket may become excessively stiff. Extra fabric may be needed to match plaids, stripes, and directional prints.
-Batting High quality batting in cotton, wool, bamboo, or a blend. Choose the thickness based on how warm you want your coat to be.
Notions:
-Thread
-5 yds of 1/2" double fold bias binding (or 1/2 yd extra fabric to make your own)
-Fusible interfacing
-View A: 4 coat hooks & eyes
-View B: 4 heavy duty snaps
Printed Paper Pattern
Finished Sizes included in pattern: 0-18
Skill Level: Intermediate
