Digital - Baseball Grand Slam PDF sewing pattern from Counted Quilts More Details
This quilt pattern is for a twin size (66x86) Baseball Quilt titled "Grand Slam". It is created from a bordered set of 6 baseball silhouettes each 18x18.
The baseball images are created in the Counted Quilts method, strip cutting all the colors, then cross cutting those strips into pieces. Then assembling each block piece by piece and row by row following an alphabetically labeled image. The shaping is done with half square triangles.
Yardage needed for the twin size top: White (blocks) 1 2/3, Navy blue (blocks) 7/8, Red (sashing) 1, White Ball Print (border 1) 5/8, Navy Blue (border 2), Blue Print (border 3) 1 1/3. The image shows Timeless Treasure fabric.
The above yardage is for 6 blocks, 2 inch red sashing, 3 inch White, 3 inch Navy, then the 6 inch baseball print.
You can also use 4 images to create a large 54x54 throw. This would make a great lap quilt for baseball fans or as a quilt for a toddler bed. With a smaller border you could make a baby quilt. The extra blocks can be used as a wall hanging or pillow.
Be creative and see what you can make for the baseball fan in your life.
