Finally our town posted a reputable link (Providence St. Joseph Hospital) which was embedded with a link to tested fabrics (porosity in microns & breathability). This pattern complies with one of our local hospitals. I have joined the ranks of the Million Mask Makers.
On Saturday, 4/4, I raided my ragbag for 100% cotton t-shirts & cut the mask bodies. My sewing basket had bias tape from 1960!!! I had different varieties but I was able to improvise for the straps. Still, I had enough only to make 4 compete masks out of 14. Oh yes, I dusted off the sewing machine that has been inactive for at least 13 years. I now know that sewing is like riding a bicycle.
Then I went online. Our local craft/fabric shops have closed (not even drive by pickup). So it didn't matter when JoAnn Fabric store had some in stock inside the shop. JoAnn, Michael's, Hobby Lobby, an
