Tracy's Tumbleweed Travels

Have you ever watched a tumbleweed?  It travels whichever way the wind blows.  In keeping with that thought, this page will be a place to share some of my travels, none of which are planned because they happen spontaneously as the wind blows.

June 2005 Tumbleweed Travels...afoot.  All of these pictures, except for the cholla cactus pictures, were taken during my morning walk over several days throughout this lovely month of June.  I hope you enjoy them as much as I do! There's a birdie in this tree -- can you spot him?

This bluish purple may be my MOST favorite color in the world!

OK, yes, I admit...I get grossed out by most bugs, but the shimmering luminescent midnight green is simply amazing.  Anybody know what they're called?

A beautiful desert willow with fuchsia & pink flowers...WOW!

I'm not an expert, but I think this is some variety of fuchsia plant.

I'll admit my total ignorance upfront.  I have no idea what this is called, but it is GORGEOUS!

Once again...I don't know the name, but it is incredible.  The fuzzy pink is almost the texture/size of pipe cleaners.  It's so beautiful!

Another view...this pink fuzzy shrubby tree grows quite large...over 10' and is absolutely spectacular as it sways with the breeze.

Isn't the yellow, green & fuchsia color contrast incredible?!  Talk about breathtaking!!!

A small cholla cactus flowering low & close to the ground.

A tall cholla cactus -- this is a shot of the very top blossoms against the gorgeous blue New Mexico sky.

A single full bloom...so pretty...but don't touch it!
