The pattern for these this empire waist dress is designed for soft light to medium weight woven fabric. You can also use a firm knit. Suggested fabrics include: challis, crepe, silk, faille, cotton, cotton blends, rayon, rayon blends and double knit. Lace and sheers will add elegance for that special occasion.

These dresses have a fitted bodice and a center back zipper. The skirts are slightly flared so they look good on any figure. Make it with a round neckline or a scoop neckline. The lacy alternative in View B has an underlined bodice. Feminine touches were added to View C at the sleeve hems and the waistline seam. You can use ribbons or trims.
