Did you make any alterations or changes to pattern design? no

Are the directions well-written, clear and easy to follow? Yes, they were pretty easy to follow, however, since I’m a visual learner, I needed to reread the directions a few times to help visualize what to do when there was no picture example.

Did the illustrations/photos match the text descriptions where applicable? yes

Does the pattern offer useful tips or special techniques? yes

Would you make this pattern again? yes

If yes, would you make any changes? The only change I would make would be to give a larger seam allowance than ½ inch for areas that will use a flat felled seam, because ½ inch is just a little bit difficult for me to work with.

Would you recommend this pattern to others? yes

What sewing skill level do you feel is required to complete this pattern/project? Confident Beginner with some sewing experience—I am at the beginner level and they turned out just fine.

Overall, how would you rate the pattern on a scale of 1-10? 9

Reviewer's additional comments:
The pattern is quite simple, however, since I’m a beginner (and this pattern is recommended for intermediate level), it took me 8-10 hours to make. I think that the next time I use it I can cut it in half, or even less. I had a slightly difficult time doing the placket part (again, I’m a beginner) and it doesn’t look symmetrical, however, this isn’t too noticeable, and I feel that it simply doesn’t matter. This is an 8 month anniversary present for my boyfriend who is away at college, and I think that he’ll be satisfied as long as he has the ability to use the opening of the placket regardless of the symmetry =P

I used the Red Salsa Picante Chili Pepper fabric (link opens a new window), which I think was a great choice, because the quality and durability of the fabric is fantastic.  The boxers don’t feel cheaply made; also, the vibrant reds, yellows, oranges, and greens make them festive and fun.

They are so colorful, cute, and comfy! (I tried them on hehehe =P)
